We can help.
There are times when each of us needs someone to help us sort out our thoughts and feelings, and Mothers are no exception. When women from West Michigan are looking for help to cope with problems such as anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties and family relationships they can find help problem solving at the Postpartum Support Center of Holland, Michigan. Our services include, but are not limited to:
Many Moms are told they need to just hang in there through the baby blues when in fact their issues are much more serious. Other women are afraid of being shamed when they don’t feel the joy that they expected of being pregnant or having a new baby. Or disappointments of friends or family not sharing the same joy moms expect. Fears about sharing these disappointing feelings can lead to a very isolating depression. Some women simply come to counseling to work on long standing issues to better themselves but now they have a new reason, their baby. We work with a myriad of women’s mental health issues such including struggling with ADHD, PTSD, OCD and a wide range of behavioral issues. Some women seek treatment during the pregnancy and postpartum period and some reflect years later on perinatal mood disorders that were never diagnosed or treated. Women’s issues are important to us, and we are trained to help.
1st appointments at our office allow you to meet the therapist and discuss your options for counseling services. You can evaluate if the Postpartum Support Center is a good fit for you, and if you choose to continue, your goals are incorporated in to the treatment plan. We will work together to determine the best course for relieving your symptoms and getting you back on track to a healthy state. Pregnancy depression and Postpartum Depression and Anxiety are treatable issues and we are Experts trained in providing research-based methods of psychotherapy for expectant and new mothers. Women from Ottawa, Allegan, Van Buren, Muskegon and Kent County can benefit from Mental Health Treatment and Support group programs on the Lakeshore.
